Sorry again for posting this in the tag but I have to wonder how/why someone from another shipping fandom bitches about your post and accuses you of creating drama when you specifically don’t tag the show, only your ship, because the last thing you want is to create drama with people from other ships/character preferences.

I WONDER.

You know that a man and a woman can be friends, right? Nothing wrong to want two people to be friends and nothing more. No need for drama.

Okay. My bad. I was too busy looking for a link for the episode so I suppose I didn’t spend time on context, which believe me, to me is a capital sin. Context is literally everything in my book, so let me try and make you understand my original post better:

OF COURSE a man and a woman can be friends. In fiction and in real life, you can adore a man and a woman as friends (or two women, or two men) and yet believe they wouldn’t be a good romantic pairing. That goes without saying. However, if you do think that they can be friends, a “brotp” even (and a “cute” one at that), would you so vehemently say “ew” and that you’re barfing at the sight of these two people sharing your field of vision? I sure wouldn’t. I mean, take how the mainstream media seems to be shipping Natasha and Steve (you know, from Cap 2) romantically, for example. I don’t see it. IMHO Scarlett and Chris have ZERO romantic chemistry, but they ooze the platonic kind (not surprising as they’ve been good friends for years, but I digress). Does that mean I went “ew, Steve and Natasha, BARF” during every scene they shared in the movie? No. I enjoyed them, because I enjoy the characters’ friendship.

I mean, when commenting Hook bumping the table in the seance scene, the person said something along the lines of “Hook ruined everything, of course. Dick.”, so it’s clear they are as anti-Hook as it gets. That’s not my problem. You can think what you will. That person saying “ew” and “barf” every two seconds at CS is then completely understandable, completely expected even. What I don’t understand how someone so horrible can be so great to be someone’s friend. That’s what doesn’t make sense to me. Get it now? I hope you do, but please don’t hesitate to ask for further clarification. I realize I tend to ramble when I get into a subject and what is clear in my head may not come through in my writing.

Oh, and since you seemingly replied to my post within thirty seconds of it being up, which was about the time it took for me to add my edit, I’ll copy it here:

Advice he’d give a 12-year-old version of himself"It might sound oversimplified, but I’d say, ‘Shhh.’ It’s so funny how noisy my brain is - it’s what it does, it makes thoughts. And the problem is, I think in most of our lives the root of suffering is listening to that brain noise and actually identifying with it as if it’s who you are. That’s just the noise your brain makes. And more often than not, it probably doesn’t have much to say that’s going to help you. I’ve felt my best are the moments that I’ve been able to pull that plug and say, ‘Chris … shhh … shhh.’ And it’s not quitting, it’s not giving up, it’s not washing your hands of the thought, it’s rising above it. All the time I’ve spent suffering as a result of brain noise, hours of my life wasted. So that’s what I’d say: ‘Shhh.’"
